Iran producing 60% enriched uranium
TEHRAN: Iran said yesterday that it had started to produce more 60% enriched uranium as part of measures against a resolution passed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
This is the first time Iran has begun enriching uranium to 60% purity at the underground Fordow nuclear plant located near the northern city of Qom, said the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran. The IAEA passed the resolution proposed by the US, Britain, France, and Germany that called on Iran to co-operate with agency investigators regarding “traces of uranium” at a number of its “undeclared” sites. Iran has rejected the allegations.
