Even a well-raised pit bull can become aggressive

- TERENCE GRANT | Cape Town

THE fact that some lions and tigers have been raised as pets without mauling their owners does not mean that lions and tigers that do maul their owners have been raised badly. Lions and tigers are not suitable as pets.

The same applies to pit bulls: the fact that the vast majority are well-behaved, loving pets should not obscure the fact that they are a dangerous breed that has been bred to be aggressive. There is a greater chance of a well-raised pit bull going berserk than there is of a well-raised Labrador going berserk. If you don’t understand this, you probably shouldn’t have dogs or children.
