Hi-tech is risking little humanity we have left

- EBRAHIM ESSA

SOMEBODY has invented a gizmo that can track every micro behaviour of soccer players. It’s possibly inspired by the World Cup hype.

It’s an assessment tool for helping players improve their skills. It can also help boot out the player who seems to have too many deficiencies.

Most of us have heard the idiom “a watched pot never boils”. It means that any human who is aware of being closely watched, loses their spontaneity. Spontaneity that makes them more human and less humanoid. It’s similar to Heisenberg’s principle that the exact behaviour of electrons cannot be accurately measured because the technology used affects their movement.

Even without the concept of robotisation, we humans have lost most of our semblance to humanity. The Covid-19 bug has led to humanity becoming more vicious than before. Do we really need ultra-robotisation to eliminate the humanity that’s left?
