Our president needs our support as a victim of crime

-

State Capture is the area of focus, not Phala Phala – where our president needs our support as a victim of crime. We have politicians in this country who stole millions and left our state-owned enterprises empty. Denel and South African Airways – together with Eskom – collapsed, but that is fine to these people who have a natural hatred for our president because he is fighting corruption. To everyone who is calling for his resignation and stepping aside, they must stop. To Ramaphosa – our president – hold on and be strong. Believe that your enemies will vanish into thin air. This is just a trial; instead, focus and apply your faith as God is with you. Ramaphosa will triumph over Section 89. God is above all those stories, and His thoughts are above No counsel anywhere in this country should get away with the abusive and arrogant language repeatedly employed by Dali Mpofu. How dare he threaten a sitting president that he should testify: “If he knows what’s good for him.” The Legal Practice Council has got to do its job. | JOBURG LAWYER

RAPE & JUSTICE

This is absolutely horrible. What is going on with men? Fathers, brothers and uncles. What is going on with this government and not changing laws regarding this when there is such an increase in this particular crime? Mothers – pay more attention, please! Mothers get so caught up trying to hold the household together; they work to be good wives and trust that their daughter is in safe hands. Educate your daughters that absolutely nobody is allowed to touch them, no matter who it is – even if it’s family – from an early age. It is the people closest that get away with this for a longer time before being caught. I know this – as well as other crimes – that happen nationally, but this Limpopo place seems to always take the headlines for horrible crimes. |

All these rapes of children by their own fathers; rapes of girlfriends, wives and grandmothers. The murders, all being done by the majority of this country, are deplorable and frightening, yet when people of other colour speak up and say anything, then the whole country goes up in arms and calls out these people as being racists. If you look at the latest crime statistics, this shows it all, and that is not mentioning the other major crimes also being committed mainly by the majority, which include kidnapping, cash-in-transit crimes, burglary, farm murders and torture, corruption, money laundering, theft and the list goes on and on. What a sad nation of people we are, and even our government running this country is the same. | CARL TAYLOR

ODDS & ENDS

Bring John Plumtree back to coach the Sharks. Plumtree got the whole Sharks team to work, and they won the Currie Cup a few times under his coaching. He somehow got the Sharks players motivated, and serious consideration should be given to get him back to Durban. They need a good coach like Plumtree to get the Sharks on top again. It is the best opportunity they have. The time is now – let’s make things happen at the Sharks again. | CHARLIE

The thought of turning the Beechwood Course into a residential development as well as opening a shebeen next to a temple – those are just two examples of the mental capacity of our city leaders. That is, to overpopulate areas to deprive residents of more money. This is no different to putting 30 people into a taxi. The city will soon be looking more like a third-world town. | ASH
