Missing man found in Phoenix Mortuary had been ‘knocked down’

A MAN who was reported missing was positively identified by his family at the Phoenix Mortuary recently.

Police spokespers­on Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo had reported that Patrick Kommireddi, 73, was one of the missing persons Chatsworth police were looking for. Kommireddi was last seen by his family on November 7, when he left his home and made his way to the Moorton Shopping Centre. He was last seen wearing a green pyjama top and grey shorts..

On Saturday, Ngcobo said: “Patrick Kommireddi was positively identified by his family on November 30 at Phoenix Mortuary. It is alleged that he was knocked down by a vehicle on Monday at Merewent. A case of culpable homicide was opened at Wentworth SAPS for investigat­ion.”

Meanwhile, Chatsworth police are still looking for Nadeem Vhora, 29, who was last seen on November 7, when he left his home in Westcliff. He was wearing denim jeans and a T-shirt. He is medium in build and fair.

They are also still searching for the following two men:

1. Nkosinathi Mbete, 22, was last seen on November 4 when he left his home in Welbedacht East in search of employment, was wearing a track top and navy jeans. Mbete is slender in build and dark in complexion.

2. Xolile Majola, 59, was last seen by his family on November 11 when he left his home in Queensburg­h for RK Khan Hospital. He was last seen wearing a blue overall and white takkies. Majola is small in build and dark in complexion.

“Anyone with informatio­n on his whereabout­s is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Duma at SAPS Chatsworth on 084 027 5694 or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” Ngcobo said.
