Power is in our hands, don’t vote for more of the same

- I MAHLOGONOLO BONOKO RAMASIKA I JACKY

Why must the whole country listen to lies every year? The EFF is fighting for us who hate lies and promises made since 1994. What other ways must we hold leaders accountable? As much as you guys are burning tyres on the streets, holding those responsible accountable is the best possible way.

Good question. It is your responsibility as EFF members to ask your leadership, “What other ways can we hold these cadres accountable?” Because climbing on stages, tables, throwing water bottles and shouting insults results in them being thrown out of Parliament. What has that solved? Nothing. It is as useless as burning tyres on the streets. I LEBO R MTHABELA

We are like this because of the looting that happened in the KZN and Gauteng unrest, where malls were set alight and looted. So interest rates went up. I EVANGELIST MASILO TURNER MACHAKA

What about the rest of the country that wanted to hear the president’s State of the Nation Address (Sona)? The EFF must find other ways of fighting. This mentality and behaviour is not it. No sane person in South Africa wants to be governed by such people. I LEBO R MTHABELA

Those who vote for EFF will receive the same treatment, and the way they treat Parliament should they rule. Humbleness goes a long way.

Overseas investment and technology could help. But this mess will shut that down. I

Take your grievances to those who promised you the for-free stuff. Why block roads they do not travel on? Take it to them, then they will stop promising you things courtesy of the working class who are paying taxes.

I KOOS VAN DER MERWE

You get what you vote for. If you are tired of the same, then vote for someone else. The power is in your hands. Do not complain about things you caused with your vote. Well done on taking your grievances to her (the Speaker). GAVIN COMER

This is going to occur more often… The people are fed up with politicians living a life of luxury while they are living in squalor. I agree with them, take it to the people responsible for their predicament.

I DEON RICHTER

I think that is what we need to start doing. Going to the ANC’S houses to protest. No use burning the roads that they don’t use, etc, because it is not affecting them.

I AKSHAY HARILALL ODDS AND ENDS

South Africa has a useless police minister and the justice system is compromised because the president appoints the judges or recommends who to be hired.

I SELENA GOVENDER

The Brentford goal disallowed: the EPL should have just kept their silence, how do they expect us to respond to this? It’s a decision that can undermine the efforts of Arsenal FC to win the Premier League this season.

I LAWRANCE TLHOWE

The Southern African Development Community must be more proactive on security. African regional bodies don’t necessarily reflect the will of the people (as Julius Nyerere once said about the AU). The SADC can adopt the US Congress’s declaration on Russia but as seen in Burkina Faso and Mali, etc, the people will decide.

I PFARI NETSHIKWETA

Well, about the Cabinet reshuffle, I am not so sure … But if you ask me who the electricity minister will be, I can tell you it will be Nomvula Mokonyane. Remember, she is the only one who knows how to pick the rand up when it falls.
