Pandor is the best person to resolve the arms saga

THE best solution to solve the South African and Russia arms saga is to appoint (International Relations and Co-operation) Minitser Naledi Pandor to negotiate a truce, with that fake American accent she conveniently picked up from passing through a US airport. Maybe the US politicians would understand her pronunciation and articulating the “English” language. The problem is that the South African politicians have difficulties in expressing themselves in putting even a simple sentence together. Now we not only have corruption, money laundering and looting by these politicians, we have another stigma. I Kris

Treasonous ANC government. How irony plays itself out. It is the US and Great Britain that were at the forefront of driving a new political policy and regime in South Africa, yet it is the Anc-led government that has turned on their masters who “liberated” them. That is social engineering’s end product. Treasonous behaviour. I HECTOR VAN HEERDEN, WARNER BEACH.

ODDS and ENDS

Thumb up for Nkululeko’s perseverance regardless of his physical condition. A good lesson to our physically-impaired children is that nothing is impossible. Second, his thesis – not having focused on his physical disability but on one of the country’s recent life-threatening situations for our children, especially the girl-child. Hope our institutions that are faced in dealing with this will utilise this information to combat and address this problem facing our country. Thumbs up to his mother, too, for the acceptance of her son’s condition and the unending support that she has given to him. What a good example of parental support to other parents. I ANON

ETHEKWINI

Does the university of KZN do due diligence before bestowing an honorary degree? Michael Sutcliffe did not clear his name in the housing scandal while he was ethekwini Municipality city manager. He also was implicated in the Manase report. I ANON.

Ethekwini being placed under administration is great news for residents. Administrators must stop all workers and contractors waiting for weekends and after hours to attend to routine work. Overtime is not necessary for grass cutting, for example. Parks and gardens employees sitting in offices must get out and work. Metro police must stop protecting councillors but instead look after the interests of residents. I SANJ

Another thing that has to be looked into is the misuse of municipality vehicles. I have noticed many workers using these vehicles for personal use transporting kids to and from school and shopping during working hours. I IMRAAN SAIB
