You want further proof that Malema is an avowed racist? When asked for his comment about Shamila Batohi’s appointment, the first thing he said was that she belonged to the Indian cabal of the former UDF. Note the connotation of the word “cabal”. This man will drive SA into a race war! | Vijay

Shamila Batohi heartiest congratulations on your outstanding achievement! We are all so proud of you. | Tanusta Jainarain

Congratulations to Ms Batohi on being appointed NDPP. I am certain that she will acquit herself with merit and that she will do her job without fear or favour. But, will Malema be pleased? After all, she is of Indian origin and we all know about Malema’s dislike of people of Indian origin. He publicly spat venom against South African Indians. His recent tirade against Mr Gordhan also confirms his dislike for people of Indian origin.

Nearly every single government department in our country is in a shambles. It is a disgrace. From hospitals, mortuaries, Sars, electricity, SA Airways, broadcast, licensing to security, there is a problem, and you read on social media that the parties are going to fix racism. For goodness’ sake, fix the country!

LOAD SHEDDING

Load shedding is a man-made problem. I have never met anyone who is not upset about it. The people in charge of Eishkom don’t give a damn as long as they get their salary and make excuses.

By allowing/acknowledging/ encouraging “blackouts” several times a day, the government is shooting itself in the foot horribly from a cash point of view. I have my own business that generates vat, income tax... So, when we have these planned “blackouts”, all activity stops, thus preventing us doing any business so we can’t pay over vat or income tax generated by our business. By the way… “blackouts” is not racist as it is a term used worldwide… so don’t go there, those who are tempted!! | Parks

Eskom warns public to be careful of stage 5 load shedding. This is the stage where Eskom comes to your house and blows out the candles.

ODDS AND ENDS

With the arrest of little Miguel Louw’s killer a sigh of relief, mortuary workers striking causing despair for families affected, then the load shedding in full action causing mayhem to residents and on roads, but positivity ahead as we are finally out of a recession at the end of 2018. It’s been a long year. Drive safely and take care on the roads and wherever you may be. Blessings and happy, peaceful holidays. | Shameema Omar

CEO Mike Barnes takes out a huge advert announcing that “the SA Post Office has caught up with processing the backlog of domestic mail items”. Really? Haven’t yet received the policy an insurer posted to me six weeks ago, on October 24.

For those who still refuse to believe in evolution, stick around as the name of our planet changes, due to excreta build-up all over, clogging rivers, oceans, topping mountains and forests. From “earth” to “death” (of clean space), then “stealth” (watch what you step on) and finally... | Ese

SAPS quick and efficient to arrest unregistered car guards, but can’t do much about arresting corrupt officials...
