Good Samaritan shot twice in leg

A PHOENIX businessma­n who came to the aid of a woman who was being robbed outside his premises yesterday, was shot in the leg.

Imran Hussain, 32, Outlaws minibus taxi owner, was at his premises at the intersecti­on of Highstone Place and Fernham Drive when the incident occurred.

Police spokespers­on Captain Nqobile Gwala said two men had tried to rob a woman of her bag, assaulting her with a gun. “A man who witnessed the incident tried to help the woman but was shot in the leg.

“He returned fire. A robber was shot in the knee and through his mouth. He was taken to hospital. The other robber managed to flee the scene on foot.”

Hussain was shot twice in the leg. He was operated on yesterday.
