Malema, BLF, Eskom and Telkom ring alarm bells

-

POLITICS

Why is Malema wasting time and money fighting over old, what he terms “apartheid or discriminatory, laws”? The Constitution overrides all such laws and others that go against the Constitution. The Constitutional Court and its laws are the highest in the land and Malema knows this – or not? Stop causing division. The people in this country want to live in peace and harmony. We need to stop fighting with each other.

So the BLF (Black First Land First) leader wants to kill five white people if they kill one black person. Now comes the big question: So many whites, Indians and coloureds are being murdered by black people almost everyday. What does the BLF leader suggest we non-blacks do?

ODDS AND ENDS

Eskom. Fire the lot of them, especially the executives who always award themselves millions in bonuses. Investigate the ship loads of coal going to China from Richards Bay. It’s time we followed the US and England where electricity was supplied by many companies and not just one inefficient entity like we have. Shocking.

The Government Employees Pension Fund indicated in its results that it also invested in (as against donated to) “projects with a social impact”. One understands that it can get a return on or recoup its investments in 538 small businesses, but how does it recoup the employees’ pension funds invested in “34 135 housing units, 225 beds added to SA health care, 33 schools supported, 21 578 learners supported, 11964 beds provided for tertiary students”?

Metro police head Steve Middleton, your department is dysfunctional. With all the loading shedding in Durban, you totally disregarded the safety of the citizens. No plans in place to have patrol officers in and around Durban intersections. City police are absolutely derelict in performing their duties in the city.

Dear Romanius Zulu, you may be right by saying the Orlando Pirates technical team’s poor decision contributed to the team’s loss, but the question is: Who does one blame when top professional players kick penalties over and to the side of the goal post? We can never blame the coach for that. I think we outplayed Baroka with 10 men, only the penalties let us down. Mpontshane is a good keeper, but on that day he made two big mistakes that also cost us the game. If it wasn’t for these mistakes, Baroka wouldn’t have scored. But again, this is football, mistakes do happen. So really I cannot fault Sredojevic. Bucs for life. | CAMEL
