AIRBNB: WHAT TO CONSIDER
In areas with high volumes of short-term visitors such as tourists or frequent business travellers, Airbnbs have been very successful.
Some people rent out a single room in their home, while others rent out the entire property.
There are several factors to consider:
• You need to be a host who takes care of your guests. Many hosts offer daily breakfast, for example, either as a served meal each morning or in the form of a voucher for a local restaurant.
• There are daily cleaning and maintenance costs.
• Decide whether you want to pay an agent to handle rentals.
• Remember that your Airbnb may not run at full capacity every month. If that’s financially difficult for you, then a long-term, reliable rental may be a better option.
