A study in the In­ter­na­tional Jour­nal of Obe­sity re­ports that peo­ple re­duced their daily kilo­joule in­take by up to 20% when they sub­sti­tuted a piece of fruit for fruit juice with their lunch. The re­searchers say that chew­ing stim­u­lates sati­ety hor­mones and whole food takes longer for your in­testines to process, help­ing you feel fuller for longer and eat less.
