“Goal-set­ting for in­no­va­tion or dis­rup­tion is al­most im­pos­si­ble,” says En­gel­brecht. “What’s im­por­tant for any en­tre­pre­neur is to ei­ther go to the cus­tomer with whom you’re al­ready in busi­ness, or the cus­tomer you’re tar­get­ing, and make sure you un­der­stand the prob­lem you want to solve – and do your in­no­vat­ing from there. Be prac­ti­cal, do lots of re­search and en­sure you un­der­stand them bet­ter than they un­der­stand them­selves.”
