SENZO MNCADI (32)

Destiny Man - - ED’S NOTE -

Co-founder: Love Revo, Johannesburg

Five years ago, Mncadi quit his job in property sales in

Maboneng to create a café that would offer an unforgettable vibe, complemented by chic decor and delicious African cuisine.

Today, Love Revo, on the corner of Fox and Betty Streets, is the place to be seen for locals and tourists, an unmissable landmark for an area of the city that’s fast reinventing itself.

To start the business, he tapped into his personal savings and roped in a friend as a partner. Mncadi’s a hands-on manager. “I’m always at the restaurant, constantly looking for ways to improve our operations and secure more patrons,” he says.

The stress of growing a brand is offset by “meeting people from all walks of life who enjoy our food and offer us compliments”.

Mncadi also rents out 12 apartments on Airbnb, as well as running a bicycle hire business for tourists wanting to experience the streets of Jo’burg up close.

For him, running his own successful business at such a young age means only one thing: “I know there’s a lot coming my way.”
