“We must always say positive things and be careful about what we tell ourselves about ourselves. The universe is listening and what you put out there is definitely what you get. The law of attraction is very powerful,” says Rampana.

After working in the corporate world in East London, Johannesburg and Centurion, Rampana quit her job as a department head in 2008 and returned home to Bloemfontein to start Kathabo Media, a production events company under the Kathabo Group umbrella which she and her husband now run.

“It’s not easy being a partner at home, a partner at work and a woman in business. You need to have that positive mindset and say: ‘I can do it,’” she stresses.

What surprises people most about Rampana is her foresight in business diversity, which is why she plans to expand her existing business interests to ICT and cleaning services.

“During all my past work, I realised that I love organising things. I’m passionate about serving people. Whenever things need to be done, I’m the first one to jump up and do them,” she says – and that approach has fuelled her 10-year-old business.
