Cricket tickets expected to sell out

- MURRAY SWART SPORT REPORTER

KIMBERLEY is in the grips of cricket fever as tickets for Friday’s Fourth One-day International of the Sunfoil Series are likely to sell out this morning.

The match offers local fans a rare opportunity to see two international powerhouses in action and despite prices being higher than local enthusiasts may be used to, Director of Commercial Operations, Brian Kidson, said that the Board was looking forward to a match that will not soon be forgotten.

“We have had an incredible response so far and we are sure that Friday is going to be a superb day for the city and international cricket.

“We have not had a sold out crowd since we hosted the IPL in 2009 and judging by the way the tickets have been going so far, I am sure this will again be the case when the Proteas face Sri Lanka,” Kidson said.

He also urged fans still wishing to book their spot at this historic match to get to ticket outlets as early as possible this morning because their window of opportunity was closing very quickly.

“We are expecting the last of the tickets to sell out tomorrow morning (today),” he said.

“This will mean that no tickets will be on sale at the gates on Friday so fans must try to avoid disappointment.”

Tickets are available at the Griqua Cricket offices, Postnet at the North Cape Mall or they can be purchased online at www.ticketpros.co.za. Tickets are R120 for the grandstand while access to the embankment will be R90 for adults and R50 for learners.
