DE BEERS is to enter into negotiations with the newly established Northern Cape Development Forum to relinquish control of the Open Mine Museum and to hand over the management of the area to the people of Kimberley. At a report-back meeting of the development forum last night, Northern Cape Chamber of Business president, Eddie Cahill, said the essence of development in Kimberley lay in making use of the city’s potential, namely the Open Mine Museum.
