NCC stumble at Under-15 Cricket Week

- DAVE ALEXANDER SPORTS REPORTER

NORTHERN Cape Cricket (NCC) stumbled at the Momentum Under-15 Week, after some good results last week, where they beat Mpumalanga by 49 runs in a limited overs clash, before seeing off Limpopo in a Time Cricket encounter.

However that all came to an end yesterday when Namibia’s Renier Bosman showcased his allround qualities as they continued their undefeated run in this year’s tournament with a first innings triumph over NCC.

Bosman was the pick of the bowlers for his side with figures of 3/31 as Northern Cape were limited to 170/5 after 65 overs. The best of NCC’S batsmen were Dylan Douglas (42), Foster Lubbe (36) and Daylon Beukes (26).

The left-handed Bosman then returned to play a masterful innings with the bat, recording a 131-ball 82 (6x4s; 1x6) to lead his side over the line, reaching 238/8 at stumps, with the best of NCC’S bowlers being Foster Lubbe 5/64 and Paseka Jonkers 2/61. Namibia won the match on the first innings.

NCC then faced Easterns in a limited overs encounter and didn’t fare too well.
