FRANCOIS Schwartz posted 41 points to pip the field by a shot in Saturday’s Club sponsored IPS. Two players followed on 40, the count deemed Ivan Coetzee second and PJ Gerber third. Andries Kori carded a gross 69 to post 39 points for fourth spot.

Array after array of festive coloured lights greeted the 50 Friday night competitor­s through the par thee nine-hole layout. A medal net format the leading scores were particular­ly close. The prizegivin­g had Oban Cronjé first on 25 net, followed by three players on 26 net – Peter Salo, Tsepho Molusi and Kobus Rademeyer.

Shane Arthur, on 20 points, was a clear winner of the Friday Sun Flamingo Niner.

Bernie Turton was the runner-up on 19 points. The final three prizewinne­rs each returned 18 points, Helena Janse, Andries Kori and Nick Sonqishe.

Flexx Rantoa returned a level par 36 that included an eight and a six pointer to post a winning 27 points in the Thursday KWV Powerplay Niner. Luchmen Poonawassy, with two six pointers, was second on 23 points. Dave Wilson, with an eight pointer, was third on 22 points in a count-out. A further nine tickets were recorded on the day, taking the five-week tally to 77.

Angelo Rodrigues posted 38 points to win the Wednesday Individual Stableford. Peter Jansen was the runner-up on 36 points. The Coming Week

It is the Leon’s House of Liquor IPS today. Tomorrow the KWV Powerplay Niner will be followed by the 5-litre Roodeberg Festive Season Draw.

On Friday it is the Sun Flamingo Niner followed by the R1100 snowball draw. On Saturday there is a betterball medal net.
