City cops ar­rest wanted sus­pect

PO­LICE in Kim­ber­ley have ar­rested a long-out­stand­ing wanted sus­pect.

On Wed­nes­day at about 7.15 pm, the Kim­ber­ley De­tec­tives fol­lowed up on in­for­ma­tion and af­ter sev­eral at­tempts man­aged to ar­rest the sus­pect.

The 29-year-old male was ar­rested in Com­mu­nity Road in Flo­ri­anville, Kim­ber­ley. He is wanted for more than eight cases re­lated to house break in and thefts and theft out of mo­tor ve­hi­cles. The sus­pect should ap­pear in the Kim­ber­ley Mag­is­trates’ Court soon.

On Tues­day, the Kim­ber­ley SAPS Fly­ing Squad also foiled an al­leged busi­ness bur­glary.

It is al­leged that the three male sus­pects climbed onto the roof of a well­known shop­ping cen­tre in the Kim­ber­ley CBD and pro­ceeded to cut an aerial and the wires of the alarm sys­tem.

Com­mu­nity mem­bers alerted the po­lice and the Fly­ing Squad re­sponded. The men were ar­rested for at­tempted busi­ness bur­glary and po­lice also found and con­fis­cated bags with busi­ness bur­glary equip­ment from the sus­pects.
