Old Mutual hands over PPE to dept
PERSONAL protective equipment (PPE) was donated to the Northern Cape Department of Health by Old Mutual to assist front-line health workers in the fight against Covid-19.
The packages consist of masks, gloves, sanitisers, shields and goggles.
According to Old Mutual, the donation was an effort to partner with the provincial government in fighting the pandemic.
The donation was accepted by the Northern Cape MEC for Health, Mase Manopole.
The MEC expressed her gratitude for the partnership and highlighted that the protective gear was most welcome at this time.
“It will come in handy, particularly as we are preparing for the peak when we will require more masks, gloves and the shields. This equipment is key, especially for the in-hospital patients, as well as for mass screening and testing,” Manopole said.
Kenneth Jafta, who represented the provincial management board of Old Mutual at the handover, expressed his gratitude for the partnership and said it would allow greater things to happen.
