THE KIMBERLEY Off Road Racing Club (KORC) will be hosting its first off-road race for the 2023 season tomorrow. The venue for this race is the NG Kerk Windsorton, and it promises to be a race that will challenge even the most experienced riders.

The big boys and their bikes will be taking on four laps of 37 kilometres of off road terrain, while the smaller 65 cc bikes will have six laps of a 17-kilometre track. Meanwhile, the 85cc bikes will do eight laps of 17 kilometres. The kiddies will cover a total distance of two kilometres.

Registration for participants will start between 6.30am 7.30am, while a site lap will be available between 7am - 8m for riders to come to grips with the course. A rider briefing will then be held at 8.45am.

Action kicks off at 9am when all riders will line up their bikes at the starting grid where the 50cc, 65cc, 85cc, and quads will be the first out of the gates to start the race. The off road 1, 2 and 3 as well as the seniors will then start after the previous riders are clear.

For those interested in entering the KORC Windsorton race, entries can be done online. Simply go to www.racecontrol. co.za, register and get your entry in early.

As for the cost of entries, the entry fee for 50cc, 65cc, and Quad kiddies will be R450 per rider. Then for the 85cc and Quad beginners, they will pay R600 per rider and the rest of the field will have to fork out R700 per rider.

As always, there will be food and drink stalls available for those attending the event who will need to bite to eat.

This year, Lenmed Royal Hospital and Heart Centre came on board as a sponsor and will be sponsoring the trophies that will be handed over to the winners of each race.

Entries close at midnight tonight and an R200 penalty fee will be charged for each late entry.
