KIMBERLEY Golf Club results for the week of May 17-20 and what’s on next week’s programme.

Results for the week of

May 17 to 20 are:

IT WAS a busy week at the Club.

The Wednesday, May 17 OBC sponsored 18-hole IPS was won by Harry Welham on 44 pts with Jacques Gouws 2nd on 35 pts. Third was Gavin van Zyl on 34 pts and 4th Donald Witbooi on a count-out with 32 pts.

The Thursday, May 18 KWV sponsored 9-hole IPS with power play options was won by Charn-marc de Meillon with 27 pts. Second was Neville Alexander with 26 pts and 3rd André Williams on a count-out with 24 pts.

The Friday, May 19 ICECEBI Golf Day was a highly anticipate­d and successful event. The 18-hole scramble drive format day with teams of four was won by Mark, Mitzi, Cobus and Carin with 98 pts. Second was the team of Johan Rooikat, Werner Hendriks, Stephan le Roux and Edward du Plessis on 96 pts on a count-out over

3rd placed Richard Wood, Bertie Mostert, Thomas Gibson and Merrick Boucer with the same score. The longest day (most golf played) was the team of Shawn, Tony and Garth.

The Saturday, May 20 KGC sponsored 18-hole IPS was won by Harry Welham with 42 pts with Stephen Turner 2nd on 37 pts on a count-out over Johan Herselman also on 37 pts. The Charlies prize was won by Johan Herselman on 37 pts. The Seniors outing on a multiplier format for teams of two was won by Harry Welham and Nigel Page on 98 pts with Harry taking the individual prize with 42 pts.

The Ladies also held their annual

Club Championsh­ip on Saturday. The

Copper Division (IPS) was won by Jessica Spangenber­g on 33pts. The Bronze Division (Medal) was won by Susan Alexander with a gross of 91 with Susanne Ferreira 2nd on a score of 94. Susanne also won the best Nett with a 66. The Ladies Club Champion however is Helena Janse with a gross of 86.

Members are encouraged to enter the annual Blacklaws and Oppenheime­r Match play events and first matches will be played from June 11.

Friday, May 26: SAICE 1st MVD Annual Fund-raising Golf day with a better ball scramble drive format.

Saturday, May 27: St Albans Church Golf day as well as the Charlies challengin­g Magersfont­ein.

Sunday, May 28: Third round of the Sealing Solutions League. Team standings are as follows: MVD 34, Golf Shop 28, Rising Stars 20, Motley Crew and CPAC both on 19,

Dirty Birdies 17, Terminator­s 16 and Sealing Solutions 8. Social golf with special rates applying to follow.

Monday, May 29: Course closed but office open for business.

Tuesday, May 30: Social golf with special rates applying.

Wednesday, May 31: John Dorys sponsored 18-hole IPS.

Thursday, June 1: KWV sponsored Niner with power play options.

Friday, June 2: KGC Charity Golf day with a better ball Scramble drive format.

Saturday, June 3: KGC sponsored IPS as well as the weekly Charlies outing.

Sunday, June 4: Diamond Sub Union Golf 36-hole IPS.
