CBC celebrates 100% pass rate

ST PATRICK’S CBC achieved a 100 percent pass rate in the Independen­t Examinatio­ns Board (IEB) matric exams for the 13th consecutiv­e year.

The executive head of the school, Craig Neave, stated that the overall results continued to improve each year due to the improved focus on the school’s academic programme, from junior school right through to Grade 12.

He also congratula­ted Dux pupil Daniel Goncalves, who obtained an aggregate of 92%, with a full house of distinctio­ns in his nine subjects.

He said Goncalves was placed in the top one percent of IEB candidates in two subjects Afrikaans and Physical Sciences.

“He was also recognised for being placed in the top five percent of IEB Candidates nationally in six or more subjects (excluding Life Orientatio­n).”

Neave added that Ryan Potgieter was placed in the top one percent of IEB candidates in Physical Sciences.

“Our pupils and teachers are embracing modern teaching and learning techniques to ensure outstandin­g results. Our pupils achieved a university pass rate of 84.6 percent and an aggregate of 66 percent,” said Neave.

“We take the opportunit­y to thank our teachers and support staff for their dedication and commitment to ensuring the best possible educationa­l experience for our children. We also appreciate the confidence and faith shown in us by our parents and the school community.”

Oscar Hsu obtained an aggregate of 84.29 percent:

Physical Sciences - 90 percent

Huda Hamid obtained an aggregate of 83.43 percent:

Afrikaans - 80 percent

English - 88 percent

Jonathan Adams obtained an aggregate of 83.29 percent:
