THE HOLLYWOOD Bets Regional Men's League is witnessing intense competitio­n as teams strive for the top spots in their respective streams.

In Stream A, Falcon City leads the standings with an impressive 28 points from 11 games. Dalton Brothers are just behind them, trailing by just one point after the same number of matches.

(SPU) holds steady in third place with 21 points from 10 matches played.

Meanwhile, in Stream B, Mighty Reds sits comfortabl­y at the top of the log with 29 points earned across 11 games. Pearls United follows closely in second place, having also completed 11 games. Not far behind, Diamond Footballer­s are holding on to the third spot with 18 points after 10 matches.

The competitio­n has been intense; just this past weekend, in a one-sided clash within the Hollywood Bets Regional Men’s League, Sol Plaatje University and Jon Dakkar faced off at the Sol Plaatje University Sports Precinct on a sweltering Saturday afternoon.

With temperatur­es soaring to 39 degrees Celsius, both teams were prepared for a gruelling encounter.

Right from the start, SPU took the offensive, swiftly finding their rhythm and exploiting their opponent’s defensive weaknesses. They quickly surged ahead, scoring three goals in rapid succession, putting immense pressure on Jon Dakkar.

Despite the scorching conditions, SPU maintained their relentless offensive, pounding the Jon Dakkar defence throughout the match. Although Jon Dakkar fought valiantly, they were unable to breach their opponent’s defence and failed to score a single goal.

As the final whistle blew, SPU emerged victorious with an impressive 28 goals, while Jon Dakkar remained scoreless.
