With the upcoming ABC National playoffs to be hosted in the NC, Mafunisa is gearing up to lead the charge without delay.

Before assuming her current position, Mafunisa occupied several roles within the football community. She served as the vice chairperson of Sol Plaatje LFA and worked as a national assistant coordinator for the FNB football festival. Additionally, her experience as a football manager for the Sol Plaatje University male team and her role as tournament assistant manager for the Absa Wildeklawer football team have deepened her understanding of the sport.

In her new role, Mafunisa has outlined her priorities, emphasising her dedication to uplifting women in sports, enhancing grassroots development programmes, and engaging stakeholders to improve sports facilities within the province. She also aims to address the challenges faced by clubs, particularly regarding transportation fees, by seeking support from potential sponsors.

"I want to see more qualified coaches, referees, and club administrators in the Northern Cape," Mafunisa stated, highlighting her commitment to fostering growth and sustainability within the football community.

As Mafunisa begins this new chapter, her appointment symbolises a promising future for football in the NC, characterised by inclusivity, development, and unwavering dedication to the beautiful game.
