Fans of the musician that was Prince are in for a treat when Showtime Australia brings its new stage show spectacular,
1999 The Ultimate Prince Experience, to the Artscape Opera House in May.
The genius, innovation and grandeur of the one-and-only Prince will feature throughout this immersive stage show, which further pays tribute and reverence to one of the greatest musical pioneers of our time.
1999 The Ultimate Prince Experience new theatre-style tribute concert celebrating the late musician’s catalogue of music with dedicated live performances from talented South African multi-instrumentalist Dale Ray on vocals, guitar and piano and an eight-piece dance band in support.
The Johannesburg based Ray is excited to bring the iconic legacy of Prince to life on stage for the very first time.
“I intend on giving the people an is a unforgettable Prince tribute experience, as close to the real deal as possible,” he related.
“I hope to portray Prince as the multiinstrumentalist that he was, the agile, energetic performer that he was and the generous entertainer that he will always be remembered for.”
He further described impersonating the musical icon as “a massive honour”.
Fans can expect a sensory spectacular, bespoke costuming and production as well as a raft of iconic songs such as “Purple Rain”, “When Doves Cry”, “Kiss”, “1999”, “Little Red Corvette”, “Raspberry Beret”, “Diamonds and Pearls”, “Cream”, “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World”, “Let’s Go Crazy!” and much more.
The show will run at the Artscape from 27 to 31 May.
