SUN’S OUT

-

December driving means that you will spend vast amounts of time in the sun. Protecting your skin with a high SPF sunblock is important, but even more so, sunglasses are essential accessories for you and your passengers.

Driving in bright sunlight is more comfortable and less hazardous with a pair of polarised sunglasses. Not only does polarisation ease eye fatigue, but it also reduces reflective glare off flat surfaces. It also improves clarity and contrast, giving you a sharper view of the road. But, not all polarisation is created equal. Certain sunglasses claim to offer polarisation, but may only block out 10% of reflected glare. On the other hand, a high-end pair of sunglasses with a quality polarisation filter can block out nearly all glare. Maui Jim, for example, touts their PolarizedPlus2® lens technology, which not only eliminates 99.9% of harsh glare, but also boosts colours to unmatched levels and blocks 100% of harmful UV rays.
