Riva revealed full details of its new 48’ model, the Riva Dolceriva at the 2019 iteration of the Cannes Yachting Festival.

The new model strives to redefine its market segment with several unprecedented characteristics: a brandnew exterior design developed through close collaboration between Officina Italiana Design together with the Ferretti Group’s in-house engineering department. The intelligent use of onboard space and the finest craftsmanship and finishes are featured in the new yacht, characteristics that set all Rivas apart.

The 48’s beautiful exterior uses a blend of Riva’s trademark designs like the curved windshield made with innovative spherical crystals and featuring a slight counter-curvature, seamlessly blending with the high-polished mahogany foredeck with the skylight. The exterior foredeck in high-polished mahogany features the traditional white maple seams, which also feature on the Iseo and Aquariva Super.

Iconic elegance blends perfectly with the use of the most innovative trends in modern runabout design. The hull window design is yet another complexdesign innovation by Officina Italiana Design. The unique black pencil mark along the side of the yacht neatly slopes towards the deck with this innovative design leading to an original hull-deck coupling system: the aft area is freed from the fender bar and features a carbon fibre air vent with a steel frame.

The Dolceriva features a central walkway that leads through two sunpads to the cockpit. The dinette amidships – with two large sofas and a central folding table – was designed to host eight guests in perfect comfort. It also features the patented retractable electrohydraulic Bimini-top which is easily controlled by the push of a button to create additional shade for comfort.

In the centre of the dinette, you will find access to a spacious storage area. Beyond this area is the helm station, with seating for the pilot and co-pilot. The bridge is stylistically enhanced by the addition of beautifully detailed refinements, such as the chrome steel and leather inserts or the carbon fibre lifeline on the left side of the windscreen.

Furthermore, the bridge also features the latest in navigation technology with the Garmin Empirbus monitoring system. The touchscreen system combines the very best in integrated monitoring and navigation functionalities and supports the installation of an optional joystick system which features a docking-mode feature that makes it extremely simple to manoeuvre in narrow waters, or for sideways-mooring, when needed, thanks to the movement achieved by the combined use of the propellers and the proportional bow thruster.

The Dolceriva can also be piloted exclusively through the joystick using a driving mode function that is available on request.

To the side and below the co-pilot seat, a cabinet unit is set along the bulwark that features a fridge, sink, minibar equipment, ice-maker, and work surface as well as various storage compartments.

It is, quite simply, the most luxurious and functional hotel suite ever.

The spacious owner’s cabin is located forwards towards the bow of the yacht and a glass and steel sliding door separates it from the dinette, offering complete privacy. The cabin is crafted in the true Riva fashion. All materials used in the interior of the Dolcevita are perfectly in tune with Riva’s signature style, with high-gloss mahogany essences on the first unit, mirror surfaces, leather elements, steel and lacquered woods – both matte and gloss – and is fitted with a super-comfortable oversized bed, two walk-in closets and storage partitions.

Those who desire a speed sensation will not be disappointed since the Dolceriva offers a powerful option of two Volvo Penta D13’s offering a top speed of 40 knots and cruising speed of 35 knots. Speed has never been so sensually, sensationally sexy!

Riva’s design essence for a perfect synergy of style and speed is once again perfectly captured in the new Dolceriva which has all the makings of instantly becoming a modern stylistic icon.
