WORLD’S MOST AMBITIOUS EV?
Britain’s first all-electric hypercar, the Lotus Evija, is confirmed for production. This not only confirms that the Evija project, translating to “the first in existence” was not just a PR stunt, but that the company which has been relatively quiet over the last few years has saved its energy as it’s ready to step into the electrification ring with the whos-who of electric mobility. It’s quoted at 2,000 PS or 1,470 kW with the sportscar maker claiming a vague zero to 100 km/h sprint time of “under three seconds”. That, however, is hardly an anxiety-inducing sprint time so one can’t help but wonder why all that power? At least, according to Lotus, the Evija will have a full-battery charge capability of under 10 minutes and an electric range of just over 400 km.
