It’s a new era for Formula One. Sure, it’s one that initially proved eerie with spectator-less race weekends, but it also heralds “new” teams and a new Safety Car supplier – Aston Martin. The British marque made its debut at the Bahrain pre-season testing with a reworked Vantage that will serve as the pace car, while its much-hyped DBX SUV contender will serve as the medical car for the 2021 World Championship. According to Aston Martin, the Vantage that will be used to lead the pack is a specially-equipped version of the road-going V8 with an enhanced chassis and aerodynamic package to ensure compliance under the FIA’s regulations.
