As the first prototypes undergo rigorous global testing, including cold temperature calibration trials in the Arctic Circle, Range Rover Electric emerges as a future player in the fast evolving luxury electric vehicle segment. These initial all-black prototypes, boasting a modernist design language, showcase the unwavering commitment to quality inherent in the Range Rover lineage.

Representing a culmination of a year-long component and virtual development process, the forthcoming Range Rover Electric promises to deliver unparalleled silence on the road. The electric drivetrain, a focal point of innovation, is currently undergoing intensive testing in extreme conditions, from the blistering heat of the Middle East deserts to the bone-chilling cold of the Arctic Circle.

At the heart of the testing lies the assessment of the battery and Electric Drive Unit (EDU), assembled in-house by JLR, a first for the brand. Frozen lakes in Sweden serve as the proving ground for Range Rover's all-new electric propulsion system, ensuring optimal performance on low-grip surfaces while upholding the marque's legendary all-terrain capability.

A groundbreaking traction control system, a debut feature for Range Rover Electric, promises unparalleled performance on icy or low-grip surfaces. By delegating wheel slip management directly to individual electric drive control units, Range Rover Electric achieves remarkable torque reaction times, enhancing traction and refinement across all surfaces.

Thomas Mueller, Executive Director of Product Engineering, affirms the commitment to excellence, stating, "Range Rover Electric combines customary luxury with near-silent fully electric propulsion, offering effortlessly smooth and relaxed journeys. Our exhaustive testing and development program aims to ensure its capability remains unrivalled upon release."
