EXTRA TIPS

-

● Always mix the pulled pork strands and gravy or meat juices while the meat is still warm. The gravy or meat juices will be absorbed by the warm meat and will give a softer, juicier result.

● If the pork strands are very long when you pull them apart, cut them shorter with clean kitchen scissors or a sharp knife. It will be easier to eat it if the strands aren’t too long.

● Many delicious toppings can be added to bread rolls, crispy buns, roosterkoek or tacos stuffed with pulled pork. Classic toppings include coleslaw, shredded apples mixed with lemon juice and a pinch of sugar, paper-thin slices of radish, chopped coriander, sour cream or mayonnaise, as well as chunks of avocado drizzled with lemon juice.
