DRUM - - Ed's Note -

I’m unhappy about the manner in which SuperSport United is treated in the Caf Confederation Cup. The team is getting little to no media attention, and less moral support from sporting bodies, officials and the country at large. Despite their achievement of reaching the final of this prestigious continental showpiece.

When Orlando Pirates participated in the previous continental editions, it was said they were putting the whole country on the map.

The type of support that was extended to Pirates which saw them reach the finals should also be given to Matsatsantsa a Pitori.

SuperSport and Pirates are South African teams and their participation in the continental showpiece is a grand representation of the whole country.

SuperSport needs the backing of all citizens so the team can have that sense of national duty that will motivate them to do well.

I urge all compatriots to rally behind the team and help them bring the trophy home for the pride of the nation. Let equal treatment reign. MALPHIA HONWANE, GOTTENBURG EMANYELETI
