WHEN YOU HAVE PMS: WHOLEGRAIN BREAD AND EGGS

DRUM - - Health -

Researchers believe we crave sweet, starchy food during PMS because the body uses carbohydrates to make serotonin. But avoid ice cream, doughnuts and chips as these high-sugar, high-fat carbs just leave you feeling sluggish.

Choose a complex carbohydrate such as wholegrain bread instead and combine it with eggs. They’re rich in tryptophan, which is used in the production of serotonin.
