Another race, another effortless win for track star CASTER
SEMENYA. She claimed another 800m title, this time at the IAAF Continental Cup in the Czech Republic. She finished in 1:54:77, followed by Ajeé Wilson in second and Natoya Goule in at third in a time of 1:57.36.
The previous day Semenya set a new South African 400m record, finishing second in a time of 49.62 seconds.
Athletics SA president Aleck Skhosana raved about Semenya’s great season. “We’ve run out of words describing the incredible season Caster is having,” he said. “She has not let anything distract her from her goals and she has been tearing one national record after another and that’s got to be applauded and celebrated. We congratulate her, her coach and all those who have had influence in this achievement.”
