Kap, who signed with Nike in 2011, is be­lieved to have a con­tract worth as much as seven fig­ures for the re­cent cam­paign, in­dus­try in­sid­ers say, but nei­ther Nike nor the ath­lete have con­firmed this.

Nike’s stock dipped slightly on the re­lease of the ad as con­ser­va­tive Amer­i­cans posted videos on­line of them burn­ing their Nike gear. But a few weeks later the com­pany’s share price closed on a record high.
