Three years after her accident Corrine (33) wears her scars with pride. She was left with severe burns after a corrosive liquid used for unblocking drains slipped out of her hands and broke, splashing its content on her chin and face. “I instantly felt like I was on fire, so I rushed into the shower while my husband called an ambulance,” she recalls. Since then she’s had two skin grafts and is still undergoing laser treatment to improve the appearance of her scars. Corrine has been involved with a number of Sylvia Mac’s campaigns, including a beach reveal in August last year. She’s proud to be taking a stand against the fashion world’s narrow definition of beauty. “Today we showed Victoria’s Secret that diversity is important in the fashion industry and that our voices will be heard,” she wrote on Instagram.
