DRUM - - CHILL OUT -

SECOND ACT COMEDY-DRAMA. 109 MIN. 2018. 16L.

JENNIFER LOPEZ plays a shop manager who lands herself a job after, well, lying about her qualifications. Her years of experience though, make her more than capable of doing the job but it looks like she’ll be butting heads with a younger colleague.

But things take a surprising turn as the film’s focus shifts on the relationship, not rivalry, between the two women. THE MULE THRILLER. 112 MIN. 2018. 16 DLVS. If this film hadn’t been based on a true story, chances are it would’ve been considered too far-fetched to get made. CLINT EASTWOOD stars as a 90-year-old horticulturalist who falls on hard times. To make ends meet, he becomes a drug mule, driving vast quantities of cocaine to dealers across America.

Turns out, he’s great at it because why would the cops suspect a kindly old pensioner of something so outrageous?

REPLICAS SCI-FI. 107 MIN. 2018. 13V. After his wife and children die in a car crash, scientist Will ( KEANU

REEVES) decides to bring them back to life . . .

Replicas has a striking central concept that could’ve made for a compelling film, but sadly the movie never reaches its potential. Director Jeffrey Nachmanoff seems unsure if he’s making a drama, action film or a sci-fi thriller, and Replicas doesn’t convince in any of these genres. – FRANCO HAVENGA
