Other lan­guages spo­ken in South Africa, but not of­fi­cially recog­nised in the Con­sti­tu­tion, in­clude the Khoi, San and Nama lan­guages, sign lan­guage, as well as the lan­guages of com­mu­ni­ties within SA like the Por­tuguese, Hindu, Greek and Ger­man peo­ple. Lan­guages rel­e­vant to cer­tain re­li­gions – such as Ara­bic (Is­lam), He­brew (Jewish) and San­skrit (Hin­duism) – are also pro­moted. To en­cour­age the di­ver­sity of Mzansi and cel­e­brate our many lan­guages and cul­tures, it might be a good idea to learn an­other lan­guage.
