BEST FOR A delicious escape into a hidden courtyard with delicious Middle-Eastern fare. FOOD In the morning, there’s traditional breakfast options and a quality omelette with white cheddar and tomato pesto, but you could also indulge in berry French toast, a breakfast braaibroodjie or a boerie. For lunch, the hamburgers reign supreme (choose from barbecue, falafel or banting), or go a different route with traditional bobotie or a Middle-Eastern bowl with falafel balls, homemade chakalaka, beetroot mayo, salsa and avo. Sweet pastries are a perfect accompaniment to the quality coffees. DRINKS It’s a short and sweet list, with attention given to café favourites like smoothies and gourmet shakes, freshly squeezed juices (beetroot, carrot and apple), some alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails (mojito or nojito), beers and ciders. SERVICE There’s a relaxed atmosphere and the service is excellent. AMBIENCE It’s a great space outside, hidden from view and secluded – with free WiFi. (DdB)
