RH Construction King Cetshwayo’s good form continued at the weekend after the local squad recorded a five-wicket victory over Amanzimtoti Cricket Club in a Premier League fixture played at

Toti Oval on Sunday.

Captain Jason Redinger won the toss and elected to bowl first.

This decision proved wise as his bowling attack restricted the home side to 91 all out in 34.3 overs.

Leading the bowling pack was Ruan

Janse van

Rensburg who recorded figures of 3/26 in 10, with further contributions coming from Neill Jordan (2/25 in 10), Marc Shorkend (1/22 in 8), Chad Neuhoff (1/11 in 6) and Gareth Bishop (1/4 in 0.3).

King Cetshwayo’s modest run chase got off to a very shake start, however. Opener Zakhele Ntuli departed for zero, with the scoreboard reading 21/1. Then Redinger and Dylan Browne were also dismissed for ducks, leaving the score at 25/3.

But Melvyn Jackson’s 27, Janse van Rensburg’s 25 not out and Gareth Bishop’s 18 not out were enough to guide the team home. King Cetshwayo reached 95/5 in 24 overs.

The lads will take on Clares at Addison Park on Sunday in their next assignment.
