Gummy spaghetti

As a vegetarian I steer clear of things like gummy sweets and marshmallows as they contain gelatine, a product derived from animal bones. Although I’ve since managed to find vegetarian wine gums, nothing quite matches the taste of the original ones. That particular fruity flavour takes me right back to my childhood – whenever we went to the movies during the school holidays, we’d get a big box to share. But I recently stumbled across these vegetarian gummy sweets at my local Pick n Pay Family Store for R13,10. I don’t know if they’re new or if they’ve been hiding in the sweets aisle all this time, but in case you haven’t found this hidden treasure, allow me to introduce you to Bebeto Spaghetti… Janine
