MAKING IT WORK

Here’s how to ensure you get the work-play balance right:

-

1. Set up systems: Whether it’s daily Skype check-ins, shared Google folders or a Trello board, set up a system that ensures work is streamlined for you and your employers/clients. 2. Be productive: When you’re in work mode, stay focused on your output so that you have more time for sightseeing. 3. Set boundaries: Make a conscious effort to separate your working hours from your downtime – the best way to do this is to avoid checking and responding to emails when you’re out playing tourist. 4. Be flexible: An interesting experience might come along that doesn’t fit into your schedule; be open to mixing things up.
