Our plus-sized testers felt that this shaper smoothed and gave them a tauter-looking butt. It was fairly comfortable for some, while others felt it was tighter around the waistband and dug into the tummy. While there is no bulging, the leg seam is slightly visible under clothing. This garment gives your middle and thighs definition, and shapes the butt well. It’s also easy to put on and take off.

Verdict: Outstanding control and very wearable.

If you’re okay with effectiveness over comfort, this is the shaper to get. It offers excellent control and strong hold, and compresses from the waist to thighs. The garment also lifts the butt. The fabric is soft and thin, but less stretchy than some others tested. Testers found this shaper fairly comfortable but restrictive after a while; some noted pinching on the sides.

Verdict: Most testers found the shaper tight and inflexible but highly effective.

This was a favourite among testers. The soft fabric is firm yet has lots of give – the shaper supports without feeling restrictive. It smoothes over cellulite, offers great control and gives the butt a lift, all without causing unsightly bulges. While the thick waistband prevents the shaper from creeping down, it can be hot in warm weather.

Verdict: A highly effective shaper that’s comfortable and easy on the pocket.
