TO THE LIGHT HOUSE

My husband and I recently spent a weekend at The Light House Boutique Suites in Paarl, and boy did it take some convincing to get me to leave. We’d been invited for their G&Tea Experience, which involved a distillation demonstration by Wilderer Gin, followed by gin cocktails and afternoon tea. We stayed in the Bedford Manor suite, which has a mahogany four-poster bed, a reading nook where you can easily while away an afternoon and a little balcony with a view of the mountains.

It was a weekend of five-star service, gin and bubbly sipping, and eating scones slathered in cream – how does one go back to normal life after that?
