PARTY-READY MAKEUP

It’s time to get your glow on again! Here are six easy makeup tips to get you ready to party (albeit a slightly smaller one)

Six easy ways to dazzle the crowd

1 PREP YOUR CANVAS

Whether you prefer foundation or BB cream, go for it. But always start with a good primer, not only to give you smooth, glowing skin but also to keep your makeup in place.

2 FOCUS ON YOUR EYES

Yes, it’s still mostly about the eyes. Masks look like they’re here to stay for a bit, so the emphasis is all above your nose. Our favourite look for the season is simple and shiny: start with eye cream to plump up fine lines, add a touch of primer and then cover your lid in a neutral shade for you (anything from brown through taupe to ivory). Of course, you can also go wild and hit the purples and pinks – totally up to you! Add a little shadow, a shade darker, directly under your eye, too. Add a touch of shine in the form of shimmer shadow or highlighter in a light champagne colour to the inner corner of your eye – that’s all: nowhere else. Finally, finish off with slightly more dramatic eyeliner than usual and a layer of mascara.

3 SORT OUT YOUR BROWS

The overdone brow is over! Fill them in in one shade darker than your natural colour, extending slightly. Make them firm rather than strident. Your brows are a frame, not the main event.

4 LOSE THE SHINE ON YOUR T-ZONE

Add a touch of translucent powder to your T-Zone: it’s the only place you don’t want to glow!

5 SMILE!

Smiling will put you in the mood to party but also show you where the apples of your cheeks are, because that’s where you’re going to add a glow of colour blush (the brighter the colour in the compact, the less you’ll need to use).

6 ADD A SLICK OF YOUR FAVOURITE LIPSTICK

Whether it’s matte or gloss, the rule is to wear what makes you most likely to smile. A lot. Have fun!
