Nothing completes an outfit quite like…
Your handbag, lipstick and shades.
Your top tip for putting together a killer outfit?
Try a fitted dress, even if it’s quite plain, with a beautiful belt to hug and accentuate your figure. And be sure to accessorise.
Which wardrobe item would you save in a fire?
My handbags! No question about it.
What would you not be caught dead wearing?
I can’t really say that there’s something out there I would never give a chance. Fashion changes, and taking something that doesn’t work and putting a twist on it can make the world of difference.
Any specific designer you just can’t stop buying?
My favourite designers are Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana and Alaïa. Their items always seem to fit me just right and make me feel like a million bucks!
What’s your go-to feelgood outfit?
I have a stunning burgundy dress by Gucci with a print of interlaced belts and straps on it that I bring out when I need an extra spring in my step. It’s a short, high-waisted dress with a fabric belt and threequarter sleeves. I wear it with a classic matching scarf.
Any tips for accessorising?
I never over-accessorise. I like small touches that add just a little sparkle or detail to my look.
Do you have any pieces you’d never part with? I’m very sentimental about my shoe and handbag collections. Each handbag and each pair of shoes were carefully selected either on my travels around the world or during a spot of retail therapy. So each of them has a memory and tells a story that’s very personal to me.
Any items you own multiple versions of? Pleated skirts with matching shirts. One such set is the burgundy Gucci number that I mentioned.
What is your favourite shop to browse?
That has to be Dolce & Gabbana. I love their shop layouts, and every item on display is a feast for the eye. ❖
