‘Feeling good in my skin, literally, is important to me.’

What is one item of clothing that you own multiple versions of? I’m always searching for a well-fitting pair of blue jeans. They’re not always easy to find (we need to change that!), but I’m currently loving the high-waisted cropped flared jeans from Levi’s that I bought in December.

What is your go-to feel-good outfit? Lately, it’s an understated but ohso flattering black A-line wrap dress from Hannah Lavery – with a matte bright-red lip, mini gold hoops and a pair of slip-on sandals in the day, or ankle boots at night.

If you could buy only one new item for the season, what would it be? It’s a toss-up between a pair of Doc Martens lace-up platform boots and an oversized emerald-green leather jacket. Both would be great staple additions to my wardrobe, especially for in-between seasons.

What was the last thing you splurged on? Skincare. I know it’s not clothing, but feeling good in my skin, literally, is important to me. My top picks include

SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF, SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5 and Huxley Secret of Sahara Oil Essence.

Top three shops for fashion staples? Levi’s, Country Road and Zara.

Top three shops for those one-ofa-kind items? Rich Mnisi, a vintage shop called Marlow Finds, and Mungo & Jemima.

Any styling tips? The clothes can only look great if you feel good. There’s a difference between someone saying, ‘That’s a nice dress’ and ‘You look great.’

Is there anything special you picked up on your travels? Travelling has made me appreciate having a few good-quality staple items you can mix and match. I used to overpack. I’d end up not wearing half the outfits I’d brought with me. I move lighter now, selecting only really good basics and some unique pieces. That energy transferred into my wardrobe, and it has also transferred into my living space and my everyday life. Keep it simple... with a hint of interesting.

What is the one thing in your wardrobe that gets the most wear? Chunky gold-plated midi hoops in all shapes and sizes. I know I’m speaking for the masses here! I bought some of my favourite pairs from Famke, Sadie + Jean and Mungo & Jemima.
