I’m a retiree from the mining industry, and I have farmer friends in the Karoo and Eastern Cape. Other than my keen interest in their life and times, to say nothing of how they contribute to their communities and the sustainability of agribusiness at large, I have no involvement in farming.

However, I buy Farmer’s Weekly when the cover stories intrigue me, and your 16 April issue was particularly good. The pieces on really big issues were outward looking, and the tenor of the whole magazine was optimistic, and all about long-term sustainability and inclusion.
